Dr. Ott is a founding and executive board member of the Sports Neuropsychological Society. She served as Co-Chair for the 2nd Annual Sports Neuropsychology Society Concussion Symposium held in Dallas Texas. She was a key member of the task force that developed verbiage for a sports concussion bill in Texas known as Natasha’s Bill. This bill, signed into law in June 2012, establishes return-to-play guidelines for school-aged athletes with concussions.
Dr. Ott is a Neuropsychologist specializing in sports related concussions. She has extensive clinical and research experience with sports related concussions. She currently serves as the team neuropsychological consultant for the Houston Texans and Houston Rockets, as well as many universities and school districts in Texas. Dr. Paul Shupe earned his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., with distinction. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in California, followed by his orthopedic sports medicine surgery fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Shupe specializes in sports medicine. His clinical interests include arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. Follow up interview
Dr. Tsao is the Children’s Fund, Inc. Distinguished Professor in Pediatric Surgery and Associate Professor at UTHealth Medical School in the Department of Pediatric Surgery. He is board certified in general and pediatric surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and fetal surgery. He completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Cincinnati and Pediatric Surgery Training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, he completed a two year fellowship in Fetal Medicine and Therapy at the University of California, San Francisco. He joined The University on August 1, 2007.
