Fred Roberts is a long time school board member in Pasadena ISD.
His message is simple: “Educate us on what you do. I don't know what you do because you haven't told me” He also says “Don't seek to sway or change my mind but to educate”
If they have no idea who we are or what we do it is our fault for not educating them or inviting them in to our lives.
Jesse Lopez at Dobie helped Fred Roberts get over an injury and opened up a line of communication. Building relationships is as simple as giving away gear or shaking a hand and introducing yourself. take each opportunity to build relationships.

I want to convince my school board that intermediate / middle school athletes need full time athletic training services. Injury evaluation, rehab plans, concussion management, proper handling of physical forms, injury prevention through proper weight training. These are most of the points I have, but one of the topics that matters most to the district is cost and liability.
I have heard Dave Ramsey say that the person with the most knowledge and patience will usually win the negotiations. This is our source of knowledge, and we basically have until I retire so patience may not be a factor either.
Scott Galloway leads the DeSoto Sports Medicine team where they currently have 7 staff athletic trainers. You can read his bio and see all the things he has accomplished in Athletic Training, but basically he is a politician in Athletic Training form.
DeSoto ISD NATA News Great article from Scott about improving your position
Dr. Josh Yellen, program Director at the University of Houston Masters of Athletic Training program and is also a member of the NATA Professional Responsibility Committee.
Do you desire to improve the level of care provided to your athletes by increase the number of qualified hands to treat injuries? Listen to the show and let me know what you have done that works.

Jared Plummer has paid off $50,000 in debt in about 3 years by making choices that were different the what he was used to.
I, Jeremy Jackson, paid off $68,000 in debt in 22 months, has 6 months of expenses less than 10 years left on the mortgage and thriving with a single Athletic Trainer's income family of 5. We are no longer living paycheck to paycheck, we just paid $6,600 to have our air conditioner replaced and didn't miss out on anything because we had saved up for home repairs and emergencies.
Shawn Ready is just looking into winning with his money. Jared and I are happy to walk along side him and encourage all athletic trainers to be intentional and have a plan rather than wonder where your money went.
Top Resource: Take the FPU class

Fire Drill, dropped connections, and variations in audio level are all part of the fun. Maybe I need to be getting paid overtime.
