Raj Shani

A native Houstonian, Dr. Raj Shani received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he was nominated for the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his orthopedic residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. This was followed by his sports medicine fellowship, focusing on surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle, at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Shani specializes in sports medicine, shoulder, knee, and ankle surgery as well as general orthopedics. He treats patients from 6 years of age and older.

Dr. Shani served as an associate team physician for the Atlanta Falcons, a team physician for the NCAA basketball Final Four in 2013, team physician for the River Oaks Clay Court Championship, Chevron Houston Marathon and events affiliated with the IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute. He currently is the team physician for St. Pius High School and Lutheran North High School in Houston.

Dr. Shani is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He serves on the faculty of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston and is affiliated with the IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute.
