Dr. Jacob Resch is doing some pioneering research focusing on balance issues and concussions.  One of their test sites is DeSoto High School where the Sports Medicine team, lead by David Young,  is leading the way in the secondary setting with concussion research studies and protocol management.

Dr. Summer Ott the Director of the Concussion Program for Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine joins us to figure how the Infrascanner from MedLogic can be used for high school sports setting.  With 29 years in the NFL Brad Brown has some great insight into professional sports and in his new role as Director of Sports Medicine for Memorial Hermann.  Janine McGowan and Pete Thompson did a great job answering questions and demonstrating this new technology.

Did you know a CT is as much radiation to the head as 300 – 400 chest X-rays?  This new technology could help reduce exposure to radiation and speed the triage process

How to run a great student Athletic Trainer Program with Chris Shaddock and Mary Lynn Miller – 120.

Chris has been doing a lot to promote Athletic Training.  His kids, school and community believe in what the team behind the team does.  He joins us to share ways we can all be more like him.

Mary Lynn Miller Joins us via Skype from Allen ISD in Allen, Texas.  They have over 70 SATs, all girls.  They have some pretty strict requirements to make it to the varsity level.  Dealing with all those high school girls there are countless stories of drama.
